En bok av Steven Levy med undertiteln Heroes of the Computer Revolution som handlar om hackerhistorien, indelad i tre delar; från Tech Model Railroad Club och AI-labbet på MIT, till hårdvaruhackare i form av Homebrew Computer Club och personer som Steve Wozniak, till tidiga kaliforniska spelföretag som Sierra On-Line, Brøderbund och Sirius. Helt amerikansk inriktning, men ändå väldigt läsvärd.

Film
En film från 1995 med bl.a. Jonny Lee Miller och Angelina Jolie. Realismfaktorn är noll, men hakar man inte upp sig på 3D-miljöerna i datorerna och stereotyperna kan den vara underhållande.
A young boy is arrested by the Secret Service for writing a virus, and banned from using a computer until his 18th birthday. Years later, he and his new-found friends discover a plot to unleash a dangerous computer virus, but must use their computer skills to find the evidence while being pursued by the Secret Service and the evil computer genius behind the virus.
